Children’s Choir – regular rehearsal tomorrow – everyone, please be on time!

Dear Parents,

I just want to take a moment to remind you of the choir calendar!

Please look at the schedule and make yourselves free on the day! – May 28 from 12:45 (arrival) & 15:00 (concert) at Tanna Schulich Hall at McGill.

As indicated on the schedule, the Awards Ceremony will be a pot-luck informal dinner (no uniform) at Union United Church, were we rehearse, on Monday, June 5 @ 18:00 (6 pm) for both the Children’s and Youth Choirs.

I am looking for a few people to organize this! Emailing or calling parents to ensure we have a variety of foods…

Please email me if you can help out in this manner or even with helping set up and put away the tables on the day.

Many thanks again for your immense help and support.

See you all tomorrow! Please have your children there for 4:50 pm so they can be in place and ready to sing at 5:00 pm. We have a lot to get through in our short rehearsal and it is a shame when some children are late and miss out on what we are doing. So see you at 5:00 p.m. sharp!

Best,

Penni

Youth Choir -tomorrow slightly extended rehearsal – please read!!!

Dear Youth Choir members & parents,

I would like to extend our rehearsal tomorrow evening by 20 minutes, meaning they will be ready to leave at 8:20 p.m.

If your child can do this, it would be much appreciated! We are trying to build up our repertoire for the concert and polish our pieces!

We are back in the church sanctuary tomorrow. Sorry for the confusion last week. The other group there wished to use it for their dress rehearsal!

I will post information for the concert soon!

Kendra, a YC member, and many of you know her mom, Anny Lecault, lost her grandmother since our last rehearsal, so we are thinking of their family at this time. I hope our collective singing will be a comfort for her during this difficult time.

See you ll tomorrow! Please try to have your YC singer there for 6 p.m. sharp! We have much to do and little time.

Bravo & see you all tomorrow!

Bravo, Children’s Choir, on a wonderful performance yesterday at the Gala Benefit Concert! You sang beautifully.

You looked and sounded so professional.

Thanks also to the moms who chaperoned.

Now we move towards our final concert of the season on May 28. Time to really enjoy finishing learning our other songs.

I look forward to seeing the CC and YC tomorrow after two weeks!

Enjoy what should be a lovely Sunday!

Dear All,

I look forward to seeing my beautiful Children’s Choir singers tomorrow!

Arrival time: 2:45 (please bring your child up to the sanctuary of the church!)

Mountainside United Church, Westmount

in Uniform with black shoes, water bottle, healthy snack if you wish, and $5 for pizza supper.

Also, it is usually hot there but make sure they have a sweater to go over the tunique/shirt of the uniform while eating pizza and in case, they are cold during rehearsal.

We sing: On the back of an eagle, L’été & The Sun is Mine

Les amours, les travaux as well as Jubilate with other choirs! Do not worry about the last one. Many of us did it on the bus!

Please take a few minutes to go over the words, in particular, to “The Sun is Mine”, this evening! Thanks!

Until tomorrow,

I also need some parents to bring some veggie plates to share. You can simply cut up some veggies and put them in a Tupperware container or on a plate to bring. Or if you prefer, you can buy a ready-made platter! Up to you!

This is a lovely event as it raises money for Sun Youth programmes. This year, the concert will run without an intermission so it will end earlier! This is good news!

Please read your emails and the choir beat blog as I will contact you again before Saturday!

Thank you once again!

Bravo & reminder- NO Rehearsal tomorrow!

WOW! What an amazing performance at yesterday’s concert as well a fabulous concert in all! Also, the choir’s participation on church today was truly lovely and much appreciated.

From Chad and myself, a huge thank you! It was a fabulous experience for the singers and for our choir. Going away together is always a bonding experience and when we enjoy each other’s company, we sing better!

If you couldn’t go, don’t worry, we’ll do it again!

I must absolutely thank Anny and Nancy at the McGill Conservatory office, who spent hours getting the admin in place for this trip.

There will be no rehearsal tomorrow, April 10, for both choirs and no rehearsal again next Monday, April, April 17 as it is Easter holiday.

I will see the Children’s Choir on Saturday, April 22 at the Choir Festival in Westmount. I will email and post the details asap!

I will see the Youth choir at Rehearsal on Monday, April 24. We may do a couple of slightly extended ones in early May.

I will post what I would like both choirs to work on. But give me a day or two!

It is always a pleasure to work with your talented children.

Thank you for your support and confidence.

With gratitude,

Penni
